SATURDAY 14TH NOV
CONCERT DAY: 1:30-5:30PM
PREPARING THE NIGHT BEFORE CONCERT DAY
-
Label everything you will be bringing on the day.
-
Clean ALL your dance shoes - tap, jazz, ballet, modern and hip hop.
-
Pack your LABELLED dance bag with shoes, stockings, spare hairbrush & other hair and makeup gear.
-
Hang your costumes on coathangers - it is best to keep these protected inside a hanging LABELLED garment bag.
-
You might also wish to pack a dressing gown or large T-shirt to change under, or wear a body stocking for modesty purposes.
-
Take off any rings, bracelets, necklaces, and watches. You may wear small sleepers/studs/unobtrusive earrings. We don’t wish for anything precious to become lost during the day!
-
Please also remove temporary tattoos, nail polish and if possible avoid excess text and paint on skin at this time.
ON THE MORNING OF CONCERT DAY
-
Get dressed in the SKD uniform & CONCERT TEE you laid out the night before.
-
Do your makeup and hairstyle for your first routine - refer to the hair and makeup style guide.
-
[PERFORMANCE TEAM ONLY] Pack your food and drink. Please be aware we cannot accept food deliveries at any point on Concert Day.
WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT THE JOAN – 1:30pm
-
ON ARRIVAL, ALL STUDENTS MUST BE SIGNED IN AT THE JOAN BY A GUARDIAN.
-
When arriving, please bring with you ALL your costumes, tights, dance shoes, hair & makeup gear and accessories. Ensure everything you have with you is CLEARLY LABELLED and kept securely together.
-
Students will be taken into the Allan Mullins room to be supervised and prepare themselves for the concert.
-
Please note that the boys are being kept separate and Junior-Elevate girls are in a large communal dressing room in the Alan Mullins room.
-
All headpieces will be distributed on the day.
SHOWTIME – 2:30pm
-
We will have 1-2 groups lined up in the Allan Mullins Room, and the group next to go onstage waiting quietly in the corridor between the Allan Mullins room and the stage.
-
Please refer to the Concert Outline for quick changes. It is always helpful to have your costumes packed in Concert order ready to go.
-
Also be prepared to layer your tights should you need to change styles and have quick changes.
POST CONCERT – 5-5:30pm
-
To reduce any congestion, 1 family member is able to sign students out 10 mins after the Concert concludes. This will give everyone time to ensure all students have all their costume and any other accessories they brought with them.
-
Celebrate the show with a photo at our post-concert photo booth! 📸
